Background

The “Mechina” is a pre-army framework for studying different personal-social issues over a period of 10 months. During the program, the girls will meet different elements of society, their curtain of cynicism will fall and their social involvement will grow. As part of the course , the girls will learn tools for thinking and doing, they will participate in many different experiences, prepare for a meaningful army experience, get to know the land and be socially involved.
After 12 years in the Israeli education system and just before entering the army and starting their first steps in adult life, this is a window of opportunity to learn, grow, detach from the internet life, and get to know new circles of the self, the society and the country of Israel.
In our days young girls grow up into a complicated world for women, full of both hidden and revealed expectations of them. A world where the expectations of them are high but the amount of investment Is not always as it should be. A reality where they do not always get their rightful place. “Mechinat Eliel” wants to create a framework for these young women, which gives each one of them the attention and thought they deserve. A place which enables them to ask questions, explore and find answers in a safe and containing environment. We believe such a framework for young women will give them the most opportunity to achieve their goals.
Leading values of the program – the right to choose, people are in the centre, social empathy and authentic leadership.
